Muhammad Ali (b. Karachi, Pakistan 1987) graduated from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi with a BFA in 2010. He is essentially a formalist but is also an installation and performance artist. In 2015 he participated in a show in Philadelphia at Twelve Gates gallery and more recently has held a solo at Canvas Gallery, his third there in three years. In 2013 his was the Sovereign Asian Art Prize Finalists’ Artworks”, Seoul Auction Pyeongchang Space, Pyeongchang Seoul Korea. He has held exhibitions in Dubai and other countries as well. Ali’s satirical wit and his juxtaposition of the macabre with humor makes his work stand out from his peers, mainly for its daring to address issues that many artists hold back on talking about.
