Moeen Faruqi (b. Karachi, Pakistan 1958) has never received formal art training but is a thoughtful, prolific artist. He completed his B.S in 1981 from California State University, Fresno USA and later went on to do his M.Ed from University of Wales, UK in 1992. He has been a practicing artist since the 1980’s and is a published poet, which also informs his work.

Faruqi’s bright canvases depict his own societal structures but with a nuance of satire and humour. There is a Marquezian sense of fantasy/reality about his narratives through which we read his thematic frames. Faruqi lives and works in Karachi, Pakistan
